Terms of service

Draft dated October 20, 2026

Draft — not yet reviewed by counsel; not legal advice. This is a working template for the WeTeach pilot. Text in {{LIKE_THIS}} is a placeholder. It must be reviewed by a lawyer before it is published or relied on.

These terms govern your use of the WeTeach apps and website (the “service”), operated by Dunware LLC (“we”, “us”).

1. The agreement

By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If a school signs a separate agreement with us, that agreement controls where it differs from these terms.

2. Who can use WeTeach

  • You must be at least 18 years old {{CONFIRM_MINIMUM_AGE}} and a school staff member, or a parent or legal guardian of a student at a school that uses WeTeach.
  • Students may not create accounts.

3. Accounts and approval

  • Give accurate information, including which child you are linked to.
  • Keep your sign-in secure; you are responsible for activity on your account.
  • A class code lets you ask to join. The teacher or school decides whether to approve you, and may remove you.

4. Schools

A school admin who creates a school on WeTeach confirms they are authorized to do so for that school, and that the school will use WeTeach in line with its own policies and applicable law, including obtaining any consents needed for posting student photos or information.

5. Acceptable use

Don’t use WeTeach to:

  • harass, threaten, bully or demean anyone, including students, families or staff;
  • share another family’s or student’s personal information outside the app;
  • post anything illegal, sexual, violent, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
  • advertise, solicit, or send spam;
  • try to access accounts, classes or data you aren’t approved for, or disrupt the service.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to host, store, display and deliver it to the people you share it with, only to operate the service. Schools may keep class content as part of their records.

7. Moderation and removal

Parent comments and messages to teachers are checked by automated moderation before posting. Flagged content may be held for review. Teachers and admins can remove content in their classes or school, and we may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms. Automated moderation is imperfect; please report anything that slips through.

8. Permission slips

Typing your name and tapping “I agree and sign” on a permission slip is your electronic signature, and you agree that it has the same effect as signing on paper. The school is responsible for the content of its slips. {{COUNSEL_REVIEW_ESIGN}}

9. Fees

WeTeach is free for families. It is free for schools during the 2026–27 pilot; school pricing will be offered separately, and no school will be charged without agreeing to it first.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using WeTeach and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or if your school stops using the service.

11. Disclaimers and liability

WeTeach is not an emergency notification system and should not be the only way a school reaches families in an emergency. The service is provided “as is” to the extent the law allows. {{LIMITATION_OF_LIABILITY_CLAUSE}}

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of {{GOVERNING_STATE}}, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. {{DISPUTE_RESOLUTION_CLAUSE}}

13. Changes

We’ll post updates here and tell you in the app before material changes take effect. Continuing to use WeTeach after that means you accept the new terms.
